Sparrow House Counseling

Samantha Strother

MA, LPC-A & LMFT-A, Supervised by Angie Knight Buja, MA, LPC-S, and Cristina Sevadjian, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT-S

Samantha left her home in Richmond, Texas to pursue athletics and earn a B.S. in Sociology at Austin Peay State University in the beautiful state of Tennessee. It wasn’t until her experience at Pine Cove’s discipleship program, The Forge, that she learned more about her design and discovered her desire to pursue a career in counseling. Not long after that, Samantha graduated from Dallas Baptist University with her M.A. in Professional Counseling and loves to continue her professional development by learning about the brain, emotions, trauma, and relationships.

Samantha considers it an honor to partner with you and witness your courageous journey of getting curious and addressing those parts of your story. She is passionate about joining individuals & couples on the journey toward healing and growth and celebrates when effective, life-giving processes are found. Samantha uses a holistic approach in working with clients and understands the dynamics of trauma, relational systems, and the context of life in the healing process. Samantha has experience working with clients bringing issues related to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, boundaries, attachment, family of origin, healthy coping, athletic/sports performance, and relationships. Samantha is also trained in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for treating Trauma.

Personally, Samantha appreciates environments where she can be active, competitive, social, and at rest. In Dallas this looks like playing sports, being outside, Bible studies, and evenings at home where secret recipes and friendships are enjoyed.

Samantha's certifications include:

• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

• PREPARE/ ENRICH Premarital and Marriage Assessment Facilitator
