Pam grew up in Katy, Texas after moving several times within North America with her family. When Pam was in college, she had the opportunity to be a summer camp counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler, Texas. In 2010 she graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and taught 6th grade in a local school district. It was through her experiences as a camp counselor and teacher that grew her interest in helping children and adolescents through counseling. She then obtained a master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Texas in 2012 and has served as a school counselor.
Pam has provided therapy to individuals of all ages through her experience at the UNT Counseling and Human Development Center in addition to her counseling work in the schools. She values each individual and their desire to grow through a therapeutic relationship. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy skills as well as other forms of treatment based on an individual’s ages and development. She has experienced working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral concerns in children and teenagers, parenting issues and other mental health concerns. Pam is honored to join others in working towards hope and healing. She enjoys continuing her education through attending workshops and seminars such as the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, University of North Texas Center for Play Therapy, and Ultimate Leadership workshop with Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend.
Pam enjoys spending time with her friends, husband and son. She and her husband love staying active by working out together, running 1/2 marathons, dancing and traveling. Pam is involved in her church and values the relationships in her community.
