Macey McCarty

MA, LPC

Macey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She completed her Master’s degree in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary and has been at Sparrow House since 2020. Prior to working at Sparrow House, her clinical experience included counseling in both the non-profit and private practice setting. Macey is passionate about working with college students, and young adults in their 20’s and 30’s. Macey specializes in working with anxiety, depression, OCD, disordered eating, body image, sexual trauma, perfectionism, family of origin issues, life transitions, unhealthy relationships and boundary issues. Macey has pursued advanced training in working with clients with OCD. She has also done advanced training in eating disorders, and body image issues through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and is currently pursuing her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) designation.

Macey grew up right here in the Dallas area. She completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor’s in Health and a minor in Psychology. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Macey worked on staff at a church in College Station, TX. While on staff, she had the opportunity to help launch a ministry for college women while simultaneously running the Early Childhood ministry. It was through her experience discipling college women, and ministering to young children and their parents, that she grew passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate their way through their various trials and life experiences, which ultimately led Macey to pursue her M.A. in counseling.

Macey strongly believes in the therapeutic relationship, as this has been a tremendous source of transformation and healing in her own life. She believes that healing happens in the context of relationships, and is dedicated to cultivating a safe and welcoming environment where her clients can come as they are and work collaboratively towards their goals. She is also mindful to integrate a variety of evidence-based interventions in her treatment in order to produce the most positive outcomes in therapy. Ultimately, Macey’s desire is to help her clients become more grounded and walk in greater freedom.
