Suicide Prevention Awareness Month: Part 1

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 10 and 24. As healthcare professionals we love being able to put helpful information into the hands of parents and other loved ones. It is helpful to know about resources that can potentially save lives. Let your teen know about the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741. Even if your teen does not struggle with suicidal thoughts, they know someone that does and providing them with this information can help them give a friend this resource.
